CONNECT WITH JENNIFER
Jennifer L. Perkins
Jennifer Perkins brings more than thirty years of experience in forging strategic relationships with public, private, and nonprofit organizations through her extensive advocacy work in Texas, Missouri, and California.
Experience
Before joining Longbow Partners in 2022, Jennifer refined her expertise by counseling clients representing policy initiatives as wide ranging as housing affordability, health care, produced water recycling, clean energy, criminal justice, mental health, water quality, infrastructure, transportation, senior issues, tourism, and commercial, residential, and economic development.
Jennifer demonstrated an early interest in politics, starting her professional career as deputy campaign manager for a statewide race and then as finance chief for a state party in Texas; campaign manager for a gubernatorial race in Missouri; and political campaign consultant and Chief of Staff to a former California Assemblymember, among other political endeavors.
Prior to returning to Texas in 2010, Jennifer worked in several executive positions, including vice president of public affairs for a global conglomerate; director of marketing and external affairs for a regional hospitality development and management company; and vice president for a boutique public affairs and communications firm. She also spent nearly six years as the director of marketing and operations for a nationally renowned performing arts organization.
Professional Affiliations
Aside from work, Jennifer has a passion for community service. While in Southern California she was a 2009 finalist for San Diego Woman of the Year, and served on the San Diego Bowl Game Association Committee, as a committee chair for Rotary Club #33, and on the boards of Promises2Kids and the Junior League of San Diego. She is a 2004 graduate of LEAD San Diego.
Today, her non-profit dedication continues as the immediate past president of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature Foundation, mentor with Longhorn Advocates, and volunteer for Angel House. She also served several years on the executive board of NAMI Central Texas, was named chair of statewide affinity outreach for the San Diego State University Aztecs Regional Council, played with pups for Austin Pets Alive!, and served as a Seedling Foundation mentor.
A Texas native who took the scenic route across the Midwest to the west coast and back to central Texas, Jennifer earned her BA at the University of Texas and her MBA at San Diego State University. When time permits she enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking with her dogs, being on the water, cooking, and Longhorn football. Often in random order.
